President – Sanjana Menon
Sanjana Menon is a second-year master’s student in robotics, specializing in the field of surgical robotics and healthcare. As the President of the Grad SWE chapter, she is dedicated to fostering connections among women engineers and creating a supportive network. Additionally, Sanjana serves as a library student ambassador, further engaging with her academic community. When she’s not engaged in her studies or research, she enjoys discovering new music, watching anime, traveling, playing the drums, and reading extensively.
Vice President – Zoe Fowler
I am a third year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering, where my research focuses on making machine learning more compatible with the clinical and biomedical domain. I am an NSF GRFP fellow, and I currently serve as the Vice President and a graduate mentor for GradSWE. In my free time, I enjoy biking, cooking, and painting.
Secretary – Suraksha Vinod
Suraksha is currently Master’s in Bioinformatics student, passionate about applying computational approaches to solve biological problems and immersed in research involving genomics and personalized healthcare. As the Secretary of Georgia Tech’s Grad SWE chapter, she is excited to continue fostering a supportive network for women and building new connections. When not engaged in lab work, she enjoys sketching, outdoor adventures, and traveling.
Academic Relations Chair – Amrutha Srikanth
Amrutha Srikanth is a second-year Masters student majoring in Computer Science and pursuing research in Computer Graphics and Fluid Simulation. She is super excited to bring her prior leadership experience as a former Women in Computing Student Relations Officer to continue supporting the GradSWE chapter at Georgia Tech as your Academics Relation Chair. When she’s not struggling to debug coding projects, Amrutha enjoys playing the violin, baking, and watching way too many movies.
Social Events Chair – Sai Karyekar
Sai Karyekar is a second-year master’s student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech, specializing in Digital Signal Processing and Machine Learning. Passionate about leadership and empowering women in STEM, she serves as the Social Chair of the Grad Society of Women Engineers. Sai looks forward to managing engaging activities aimed at creating a fun, relaxed environment for all members to enjoy. Outside of her studies, she finds joy in dancing and exploring new recipes in the kitchen.
Industry Relations Chair – Udeshika
Udeshika is a second-year graduate student in the Building Construction and Facility Management program at Georgia Tech. She is eagerly anticipating her role as the Industry Chair for the Grad-SWE chapter, where she aims to bridge the gap between students and industry professionals. Currently, Udeshika is interning at a construction firm in Tampa, Florida, gaining hands-on experience in her field. When she’s not focused on her academic or professional pursuits, she loves traveling and indulging in outdoor activities.
Design and Communications Chair – Asma Hashim
Asma is a 2nd year Biomedical Engineering Graduate student and a Graduate Research Assistant in the Micro/Nano Bioelectronics Lab. She has enjoyed serving as the design & marketing chair for the past year! She is passionate about improving access to healthcare, especially through diagnostic devices. When she’s not in lab, she’s outdoors, painting, picking up a random new hobby, or spending time with friends and family.
Mentorship Chair – Bezayit Urgessa
Bezayit Urgessa is a 2nd year Graduate Student in Aerospace Engineering. She is currently a Graduate Research Assistant in Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory, focusing on Systems Integration. She is excited to serve as a mentorship chair for the Grad-SWE chapter at GT in a sense of paying forward the immense support she has received from different communities and her mentor. Beyond her academic pursuits, Bezayit enjoys cleaning and spending time with her beloved ones.
